DESCRIPTIONS OF EQUIPMENT

Sign Crane

     Commonly called: Stinger, Pole Crane

      Capacities: 2 to 4 Tons

      Lengths: 80' to 118'

      Set-up time: Usually under 10 minutes

Comments: Used for lifting one to several pieces of equipment, air conditioners or signs, etc. at a limited pace. Not designed for high-capacities at long horizontal reaches or heavy sustained use. Manual outriggers limit leveling capability.


 Boom Truck

      Commonly called: Stinger, Hydro

      Capacities: 5 to 23 Tons

      Lengths: 70' to 150'

      Set-up time: Usually 10 to 20 min. 

Comments: Designed for sustained lifting and extending under a load. These often require more set-up space than Stingers. Hydraulic outriggers enhance leveling capability.


Truck Crane

      Commonly called: Hydro, Hydrocrane

      Capacities: 14 1/2 to 25 Tons

      Lengths: 85' to 130'

      Set-up time: Usually 15 to 45 min. depending on boom length

Comments: Designed for sustained heavy lifting, has dual load-lines, and the ability to drive while suspending a load. Set-up space required varies greatly depending on extensions required, and counterweight requires wider working area.  Hydraulic outriggers enhance leveling capability.


Personnel Basket                              

      Commonly called: Bucket or Man-basket

      Capacities: One or two person

      Height: To 150'

     

 

 

Comments: Baskets are rigidly fastened to the end of a stinger or truck crane boom. Arial position is controlled by the operator below.
