PERMITS FOR CRANES

The vast majority of the time no permits are required for crane travel or setup. Our cranes are NOT wide-load, over-height, or over-weight, and therefore are not required to conform to travel curfews; they may travel legally at any time. However, they may be subject to local municipal codes.

If you are involved with construction in and around Los Angeles County, you should already be aware that there are numerous self-incorporated cities throughout the Los Angeles area. Permit requirements vary considerably from city to city. Self-incorporated municipalities are prominently noted in the index of your Thomas Guide(tm).

Below you will find examples of costs in some areas in which we often work. This list is not exhaustive and prices and requirements change regularly. Check directly with the particular city for the latest information, or contact us.

Special Notices

• If required, permit and traffic control costs can only be approximated until working with specific information.

• Permit and outside service costs are additional, and must be passed on to the customer.

• Street and alley closures are major. They are often denied or may be required to be conducted at unusual hours or on weekends.

• Many city offices are now closed on alternate Fridays. Remember this when planning for permits.

No crane permit will be issued unless the prime-contractor has a Beverly Hills business license and has a current mechanical permit for the jobsite.

Contractors require proof of liability with the City of B.H. named as additional insured and worker's compensation insurance. For before or after-hours permits, the name, address, zip code and phone number of property owner must be supplied.

Depending on jobsite conditions, a police escort and/or supervision may be assigned at additional cost. Escorts only available Tues-Thurs and must have 48 hours notice.
